Demonic Eyes - Spiritual WarfareYou won’t find anything on spiritual warfare in your science books. They don’t even have it on their radar. What science can “see”, however, is the presence of invisible realities we never knew existed. Things like bacteria, viruses, cancer cells, and radioactive emissions threaten our lives even though we cannot see them. It’s time to gain eyes to see what science is blind to. Two invisible kingdoms are at war all around you; sometimes you even feel the “tug of war” going on within you. It really helps to know what you are up against–that way we can “guard are hearts with diligence” and take effective counter-measures through Holy Spirit directed prayers.

Invisible Kingdom and Spiritual Warfare

Invisible Kingdoms at War: How Spiritual Warfare Affects Us

Just suppose that there really is an invisible kingdom arrayed against you. What good does it do to know that? Is there anything that we can do about it? How does it impact daily life? According to no less an authority than Jesus Christ, we all have an invisible enemy—the “thief”—who comes to “steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Why tell us that if it isn’t true? Why burden us with knowing it, unless knowing it would help us? In fact, Jesus spoke of…

The Lord of the Flies

The Lord of the Flies (He’s Been Busy like a Bee)

Wounds from the past often get contaminated by false beliefs about God. This is heart breaking to see, especially when the person was raised in a Christian environment. You would think that knowing God and Jesus would help a person heal, and not be a source of further infection. Yet, I see this all the time at the Mission where I work with people coming off years on the streets chasing their addictions and being throttled by them. Peel back the…

Stuffs Gonna Splode

Stuff’s Gonna ‘Splode

I love to praise the gallantry of “putting things in the pot” whenever we see some unChristlike thought or attitude try to spring into action through us (see previous post). Denying self means practicing “containment” of the flesh when it tries to rise up and take over. We have to stand guard to wrestle our wrong reactions into submission, usually at a moment’s notice. But you can’t leave it there! Think of your interior like a pressure cooker: Even with…
